The once-again self-produced Kingsize manages to perpetuate its predecessor's predilection for peculiar surprise, but reinserts the crucial missing piece, the very strength of the band throughout its history: basic songwriting. C'mon Kids was wonderfully schizophrenic, and it had its moments like the Cheap Trick-ish title track.4/

The Boo Radleys' Giant Steps was this writer's 'eureka' moment, and I dare say if it hadn't been for that fateful October evening in the mid 90s I probably wouldn't be sitting here writing about music today. Sliding the secondhand cassette from its purple and white art-deco sleeve, lying back in bed and hitting play, nothing could have prepared.

'Kingsize' offers the best vocals I have ever heard from lead singer- Simon Rowbottom a.k.a Sice, out of all The Boo Radleys studio albums. The Music within is much more eclectic and experimental (in a quieter way) then any of The Boos' earlier works. Expanding pop music as far as pop can be taken/5(10).

Kingsize is, frankly, a criminally-ignored masterpiece which amply demonstrates why the Boo Radleys were one of the jewels in the rock music crown in the '90s. OK, so it bombed on release, but take my advice - if you already own one Boo Radleys LP, and it isn't Kingsize /5(9).
