Soul - funk - disco male vocal quintet from Philadelphia, PA. Originally named The Blue Notes (3) from the mids, they changed their name to "Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes" in the mids. One of the original member Bernard Williams (3) then started his own group The Original Blue one of the most popular soul acts of the Philly soul scene of the '70s.

Jul 29,  · A medley of Marvin Gaye's socio-political songs gives the group more depth and a change of pace from the traditional songs about love and guys. All in all, these are sweet soul albums to hear and have. Unfortunately, the group did not score any hits with RCA. Actually, these are the very last albums that the original group ever issued.4/5(8).

I am baffled by this set as the songs don't sound anything like I remember. It's either a recording by the current-day three degrees, or sang by cover artistes. Save yourself over 20 quid and give it a miss. If you just like the songs and don't care that they sound very little like the originals then it's a pleasant enough sound/5(14).

American studio band formed by producers Gamble & Huff of the Philadelphia International Records label. When credited with "Music By" on a release, please use "Performer [Music By]" (the "Music By" credit in discogs is for music composers, not performers) MFSB is an acronym for “Mother Father Sister Brother".
